| Rick Tuisku grew up in Kaleva, Michigan, where his artistic abilities and interest in metals became apparent. In the early 1970's he created metal sculpture which he sold to art galleries in Traverse City Michigan, Phoenix and Scotsdale Arizona. His interest in metals compelled him to obtain his associates degree in metallurgy in 1975. Rick spent the years to follow working as a certified journeyman welder, a sign maker, and finally an antique and bead dealer. He has recently returned to sculpting, and has developed a body of work entitled "The Mask Series." This new work encompasses various methods of sculpting with metal and wood. | Judy Vienneau began her artistic career in 1974 at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Massachusetts. She received training in a wide range of artistic disciplines, majored in Graphic Design and Illustration, and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1979. While employed as a graphic designer, Judy developed a body of work in photography and serigraphy. She exhibited and won awards at galleries and art associations in the New England area.
Between the years of 1984 and 1990, Judy was primarily involved in commercial design and advertising. After moving to Florida in 1989, Judy began to tire of the confinement of 2-dimensional media. She began working with nude images on furniture and lamps, incorporating manikin parts and custom made lampshades. Since then, Judy's work has evolved with the use of more sculptural techniques: clay modeling, plaster casting, woodworking, wire sculpture, neon, and welded metal. "I like the interaction between different media. I'm really a 3-D mixed media artist." |
